Olive G. Richmond
Longtime Princeton resident
PRINCETON Olive G. Richmond died Thursday at Meadow Lakes in Hightstown. She was 83.
Born in Indianapolis, Ind., she was a longtime resident of Princeton.
She came to Princeton in 1946 to attend Westminster Choir College, where she met her future husband.
She was a member of the Nassau Presbyterian Church, where she was active in various social groups. She also was active in the church’s volunteer activities and was a volunteer with the Princeton chapter of the American Red Cross.
Wife of the late James T. Richmond, she is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Craig and Linda Richmond of Hopewell Township and Bruce and Kathy Richmond of Corning, N.Y.; and grandchildren Heather, Eric and Charles Richmond.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Niles Chapel of the Nassau Presbyterian Church. Burial will be private in Princeton Cemetery.
Arrangements are by The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home in Princeton.

Longtime Montgomery resident
MONTGOMERY The Rev. Joel E. Nystrom of the Skillman section died Saturday at the Merwick rehabilitation unit of The Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Boone, Iowa, he was a resident of Montgomery since 1931.
He retired in 1968 as executive secretary of the International Committee of YMCAs of the United States and Canada after 10 years of service.
He was an ordained Methodist minister and volunteered with the Montgomery United Methodist Church in the formation and building of the church.
The Rev. Nystrom operated a farm on Skillman Road. He served Montgomery Township in various volunteer capacities for a number of years.
He received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Iowa State College and a master’s in religious education from Columbia University.
Following his retirement from the YMCA, he was active with the YMCA World Service, the World Fellowship of YMCA Retirees and the Silver Bay Association.
In October, he was honored by the Nassau Presbyterian Church at an interfaith peace service.
Father of the late Dr. Robert B. Nystrom, he is survived by his wife, Doris Gray Nystrom; sons Joel E. Jr. of Tampa, Fla., Bruce E. of Richmond, Va. and Edward C. of Montgomery; daughter Christine N. Abrahams of Montgomery; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Montgomery United Methodist Church, 117 Sunset Road, Montgomery.
Burial will be in Blawenburg Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Montgomery United Methodist Church.

HOPEWELL BOROUGH Gail L. Gay died Sunday at The Medical Center at Princeton. She was 64.
Born in Trenton, she was a Hopewell Borough resident since 1960.
She was a secretary at Mathtech of West Windsor Township.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Hopewell Borough.
She was a member of the Thursday Night Women’s Bowling League at Hiohela Bowling Lanes, Hopewell Township.
Daughter of the late Christian and Hilda Haight Audesirk, she is survived by her husband of 42 years, Larry Gay; daughters Cynthia Hammell of Hopewell Township and Heidie Gay of Hopewell Borough; son and daughter-in-law Christian and Diane Gay of Ferndale, Pa.; sisters Hilda Courtney of Hamilton Square and Janice Stevens of Rochester, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cromwell Memorial Home, 71 E. Prospect St., Hopewell. Services will be 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. George Lynch officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Goshin, Ind.
