Hospital auxiliary appreciates support
To the editor:

On behalf of the Millstone Township Hospital Auxiliary, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone in town who supported our organization during the year 2000. Through the efforts of a group of only 21 women and the generosity of the community we were able to turn over a check to CentraState Medical Center in the amount of $6,118.18, a portion of which will be used for the new Radiation Therapy Center.
Our major fund-raisers include the selling of winter and spring holiday flowers (to be held on April 6) and Easter candy for Old Monmouth Peanut Brittle Co. (going on now). In addition, we participate in Millstone Day, hold an annual Harvest Dance and mail out a request for contributions, which residents should be receiving in the near future.
Throughout the course of the year, we hold specialized craft sales (e.g. Peddler’s Village — this year on April 28) and assorted raffles. We also offer Donor Cards, whereby a contribution can be made to the hospital via the auxiliary on behalf of a loved one, whether to commemorate a birth or recovery or as a memorial.
In existence since 1965, our diverse group is open to new members and our meetings are held at the municipal building in Perrineville on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
Again, we appreciate the generosity of our community and would like to specifically thank the Millstone Elks Lodge 2613 for its continued support.

Thank you for support of Good Neighbor Fund
To the editor:

The Good Neighbor Fund would like to thank Ken Weingartner and the staff of The Messenger-Press for the continual coverage of our events. When we have our Good Neighbor Fund Holiday Drive they always make sure that we have coverage of the event, running articles and an easy cut-out ad for our donors to mail in with their contributions.
The Allentown Business Community Association helped sponsor the Love Thy Neighbor gift auction and food drive. The event was a success due in part to the once again coverage in The Messenger-Press. Whenever we ask, their efforts exceed our expectations.
Our town is fortunate to have a local paper that covers events such as ours so thoroughly. The Messenger-Press helps us, so we have the resources to better serve the community.
Once again, we are grateful for their caring.
