HIGHTSTOWN Edmund Dunham Cook of Meadow Lakes died Friday at home. He was 99.
Born in Trenton, he had lived in Princeton for 55 years before moving to Meadow Lakes in 1987.
He retired in 1980 after 57 years in the general real estate and development business. During those years, he maintained his offices on Nassau Street in Princeton and was active in local, state and national associations for Realtors.
He was a member of the Nassau Club and the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville and was past president of Princeton Rotary Club. He had interest in many charitable, civic and historical organizations.
Son of the late Edmund D. and Margaret Parsons Cook, he is survived by his wife, Louise McNiece Cook; daughters Joslin C. Leonardson of New Vernon and Suzanne Duryea Bodofsky of North Wales, Pa.; sons Edmund D. III of Salt Lake City, Ridgely W. of Winnetka, Ill. and David K. of Ashburn, Va.; sister Margaret Cook Wallace of Princeton; sister-in-law Betsy Cook of Princeton; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and longtime family associate Mabel Green Story.
A memorial service is scheduled 2 p.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, with the Rev. Dr. H. Dana Fearon officiating.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Princeton Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 1:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Edward L. Palutis of Princeton died Monday at Fox Subacute Center, Warrington, Pa. He was 73.
Born in Shenandoah, Pa., he was a resident of Princeton for 58 years.
He retired in 1989 as manager of Dormitory and Food Services at Princeton University after 46 years. Following retirement, he continued to work with the university on special events and projects.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the church’s Golden Age Club. He was a member of the Italian American Sportsman’s Club of Princeton.
Son of the late Felix and Josephine Palutis, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Julia Baldino Palutis; daughter JoAnn P. Hill of Ewing; sister Isabel Meffesky of Shenandoah, Pa.; and grandson Bryan Edward Hill.
The funeral will be 8:30 a.m. Friday at The Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton.
Burial will be at Princeton Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Helen B. Harris
Longtime Rocky Hill resident
ROCKY HILL Helen B. Harris died Friday at home. She was 91.
Born in New Brunswick, she was a Rocky Hill resident most of her life.
She was a homemaker and an avid gardener.
Daughter of the late Stephan and Theresa Horvath and wife of the late Charles M. Harris, she is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Robert C. and Peggy Harris of Rocky Hill and Richard A. and Freida Harris of Rocky Hill; daughters and sons-in-law Linda M. and George E. McVaugh of Montgomery and Arlene S. Harris-Baron and Carl P. Baron of South River; sisters Irene Olscavy of East Brunswick and Rose Hunt of Spring Hill, Fla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. today at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, Skillman Road, Montgomery.
Burial will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.

Longtime Princeton resident
LAWRENCE Patricia W. Gray died Friday at The Medical Center at Princeton. She was 68.
Born in Arapahoe, Neb., she was a longtime resident of Princeton before recently moving to Lawrence.
A graduate of Vassar College, she was a mathematician.
Daughter of Leonard and Anne Wendland, she is survived by daughters Anne Gray of Wenham, Mass., Dawn Shumway of Rochester, N.Y., Susan Gray Gose of Arlington, Va. and Heather Gray of New York City; sister-in-law Uli Werland; four grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled 2 p.m. Thursday at All Saints’ Church, All Saints Road, Princeton.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Ruth E. Shoemaker
Active Princeton volunteer
Ruth Elizabeth Shoemaker of Princeton died Friday at home of liver cancer. She was 80.
She was a 51-year resident of Princeton.
She was an active community volunteer and had served as president of the Princeton chapter of American Field Service and the Youth Employment Service of Princeton.
Educated in mathematics, she worked in the field of computation, contributing to scientific research during and after World War II.
She was an accomplished duplicate bridge player.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank C. Shoemaker of Princeton, and daughters Barbara of New Hampshire and Mary of New York City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Princeton Medical Center Hospice Program or SAVE, the animal rescue and adoption organization.
