letter to the editor
Lawrence Mayor’s Clean-up Day held on Saturday, May 12th, was a great success. I want to thank all Lawrence residents who spent several hours on a beautiful spring Saturday to help make our town beautiful. They came by town hall to pick up flats of flowers and fanned out over the township to plant and clean up. Flowers were planted at Paupers Cemetery, Meadow Road Cemetery, Veterans Park, Nash Park and Weeden Park, and along Main Street and Route 206 near Skillman Avenue. Flowers also were given to homeowners associations from Sturwood Hamlet, Tiffany Woods, Village Mill and University Heights to plant at the entrance of their developments. We also held an open house at our Park Drexel Woods where the township-owned house was open for residents to tour. Several residents came and volunteered to help improve the trails and find a good use for the charming house. May 12 was a celebration of our commitment to our town and our pride in its beauty and natural resources. Thank you all for a job well done.
