   FLORENCE — Carol Jane Ovacz, 64, of Roebling, died June 8 at home.
   Born in Somers Point, she lived in Palmyra before moving to Florence in 1960.
   She was the director of Florence Housing Authority for 15 years.
   She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Burlington, and the New Jersey State Housing Directors Association, and a founding member of People United for Clean Environment and the Lincoln Society of Florence.
   She was a member of the Roebling School 5 Parent Teacher Organization and served two terms with the Florence Board of Education.
   She was active with the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts in Florence.
   She enjoyed dancing and liked antique cars and period clothing.
   Daughter of the late William and Ida Newton Woolson, she is survived by a son, Adam Ovacz of Roebling; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy Ovacz and Tim Smith of Lambertville and Ann and Richard Jingoli of Bordentown; her fiancee, Frederick H. Hoch of Magnolia; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Sharie Woolson of Texas; three grandchildren; a niece, and two nephews.
   A memorial service will be 11 a.m. on June 14 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. J. Connor Haynes officiating.
   There will be no calling hours.

Charles R.

Wainwright

   MANSFIELD — Charles R. "Bub" Wainwright, 75, died June 8 at home.
   Born in the Hedding section of Mansfield, he was a lifelong area resident.
   He was a self-employed dairy farmer and worked 14 years with Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. of Bordentown.
   He was a longtime member and treasurer of the Hedding United Methodist Church.
   He was past master of Columbus Grange and a member of the Burlington County Pomona Grange, New Jersey Grange, National Grange and the New Jersey Farm Bureau.
   He enjoyed camping.
   Son of the late Raymond S. and Leah Hay Wainwright, he is survived by his wife, Betty Pigott Wainwright; three sons, Charles R. II, Curtis R. and Carl R. and his fiancee, Kim Maylie, all of Hedding; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cynthia R. Caterson and Claudia R. and Dennis A. Teal of Hedding and Connie R. and Stephen Borgianini of South Carolina; three sisters, Rita Carty and Ruth Lippincott of Columbus and Grace Reed of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Leah, Beckie and John Caterson, Abby and Joshua Teal, Torri Beth Borgianini and Kristen Wainwright; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
   The funeral was held at Hedding United Methodist Church, Old York and Kinkora roads, with the Revs. Neill Tolboom and W. Garey Hope officiating.
   Burial was in Columbus Cemetery.
   Arrangements were by Huber-Moore Funeral Home, Bordentown City.

Edith E. Hudson Scott

   EDGEWATER PARK — Edith E. Hudson Scott, 84, died June 2 at Virtua-Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly.
   Born in Florence, she was a longtime resident before moving to Edgewater Park 15 years ago.
   She was a Mother of St. Paul Baptist Church, Florence, and a charter member of the Richardson Soul Stirrers Gospel Chorus.
   Daughter of the late Timothy and Elizabeth Hudson, wife of the late Paul Scott, and sister of the late James Hudson, she is survived by five daughters, Elsie Lee of Florence, Arlene and Catherine of Edgewater Park, Joyce Winfree of Mount Holly and Brenda Stroud of Burlington Township; five sons, Irvin of Burlington Township, Louis of Edgewater Park and T. Wayne of Willingboro; four daughters-in-law, Bertha, Sara, Stephanie and Viola; two sons-in-law, Robert Winfree and Eugene Stroud; a sister, Marie Powell of Burlington City; 40 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
   The funeral was held at St. Paul Baptist Church, Fifth and Eyre streets, Florence.
   Burial was in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
   Arrangements were by E.J. Flippen Funeral Home, Camden.
Michael Cunningham

   EWING — Michael E. Cunningham, 72, died June 6 at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton.
   Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
   He was a judge with the state Workers’ Compensation Court, retiring in 1991.
   Mr. Cunningham was a member of the New Jersey and Mercer County Bar associations.
   He graduated from Trenton Catholic High School, Rutgers University and Rutgers School of Law.
   He was a Navy veteran.
   He is survived by his wife, Marian A. Cunningham; a daughter and son-in-law, Michele C. and Kenneth L. Niederer of Pennington; two grandsons, Michael S. and Kyle A. Niederer of Pennington; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Doris Koenig of Bordentown and John and Rose Moore of Ewing; a sister, Margaret Stephan of Hamilton; and nieces and nephews.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. George’s Roman Catholic Church, Titusville.
   Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
   Arrangements were by M. William Murphy Funeral Home, Trenton.

Theodora Nowalski

   PLUMSTED — Theodora E. "Teddi" Nowalski, 57, died June 6 at home.
   Born in Trenton, she lived in Bordentown for many years before moving to New Egypt eight years ago.
   She was a homemaker.
   Daughter of the late Theodore Cyborugh, she is survived by her husband, Stanley J. Nowalski; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Nowalski and Karl Jonsson of East Windsor; two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter J. and Lisa Nowalski of Suffolk, Va., and Jeffrey J. and Nancy Nowalski of Bordentown; her mother, Aida Cybrough of Morrisville, Pa.; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Kristy, Lauren and Kara; four sisters, Cecelia Martin of Hilton Head Island, S. C., Joyce Klitus of Morrisville, Carole Apgar of Forked River and Elyssa Szul of Trenton; and other relatives.
   Funeral and burial were private.

Kathleen Mathes

   EAST WINDSOR — Kathleen S. Sullivan Mathes, 48, died June 7 at Community Medical Center, Toms River.
   Born in Perth Amboy, she lived in Spotswood before moving to East Windsor.
   She worked at Attitudes Hair and Nail Design, East Windsor.
   Daughter of the late Joseph W. Devald, she is survived by her mother, Bernice M. Morley Gallino; her husband, William M. Mathes Sr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Christy S. and Paul Fabricatore of Hightstown; a son, Brian B. Sullivan Jr. of Millstone; a stepson, William M. Mathes Jr. of Bordentown; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Patricia S. and Gary Thunell of Dayton and Mary M. Rech of Belmar; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark L. and Judith T. Devald of Easton, Pa.; a grandson, William J. Mathes of Hamilton; and nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was held at Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, Hightstown.
   Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Hightstown.

Eleanor Burkley

   MANAHAWKIN — Eleanor Billinghm Burkley, 83 died June 9 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born in Fieldsboro, she had lived in Manahawkin for the past 38 years and prior to that in Bordentown.
   She retired from Two Guys Department Store, formerly of Bordentown Township.
   Wife of the late Fritz Burkely, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Donald Matney and Frances and Louis Miller, all of Bordentown City; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Juanita Billingham of Hamilton Square; a special friend, Tony Juanes of Manahawkin; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held at the Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown. The Rev. H. William Rousseau, pastor of the Fieldsboro United Methodist church officiated.
   Interment was in Bordentown Cemetery.
