Max Silver, 86, of Concordia, died Friday, June 8 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in Jersey City, he lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., most of his life before moving to Concordia nine years ago.
He was self-employed in the produce industry. He served in the Navy during World War II.
His parents, Abe and Gussie Silver and a sister, Ruth Nadohl, are deceased.
Mr. Silver is survived by his wife, Shirley (Spindell) Silver; two daughters, Barbara Erlichman of West Paterson and Linda Getz of East Brunswick; two sisters, Ethel Rosen Gaslow and Florence Cohen, both of Long Island, N.Y., and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 10 at the Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, 222 Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick. Burial was at United Hebrew Cemetery, Staten Island, N.Y. Arrangements were by the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick.
The family requests donations be made to the Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple.
