Jessie H. Holland
Retired nurse
   LAWRENCE — Jessie H. Holland died June 4 at The Medical Center at Princeton. She was 77.
   Born and educated in Columbia, S.C., she was a Princeton resident more than 45 years before recently moving to Lawrence.
   She was a registered nurse with The Medical Center at Princeton many years and was also was a private duty nurse for several area families. She had studied nursing in Philadelphia.
   She was a member of Mount Pisgah AME Church and served on its trustee board, missionary society, building fund and senior choir.
   She was treasurer of Elks Lodge Rising Sun Temple 119 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Aaron Lodge Chapter 8 of Princeton and state director of charity for the Elks Auxiliary.
   She was treasurer of Trinity Council, a member of the management team of Witherspoon Lodge and past grand daughter of the Rulers Club.
   She participated in many theatrical productions at McCarter Theatre in Princeton.
   Daughter of the late Tony and Bessie Johnson and wife of the late Richard Holland, she is survived by sisters Ada Wallace of Cleveland and Ileva Smith of Cincinnati; stepdaughter Denise Craig of Maryland; godchildren and caregivers Betty and Walter Moody of Morrisville, Pa.; special friends Edith Beagles of Monmouth Junction, Shirley Ganges of Ewing, Anna Mae Taylor and Robert and Viola Randolph, all of Princeton, and Harriet Banks of Delaware; and other relatives.
   The funeral was held Monday.
   Arrangements were by Anderson Funeral Service, Trenton.

   LARGO, Fla. — Christine Racich Spillar died Sunday. She was 86.
   Born in New York City, she was a resident of Jersey City from 1914 to 1971 before moving to Largo.
   Wife of the late Joseph L. Racich, she is survived by sons Joseph J. Racich of Princeton, Lawrence Thomas Racich of Middletown and Gary Paul Racich of Jackson; daughter Jo-Ann Rowe of Toms River; grandchildren Susan, Robert, Kenny, Michael, Anne, Christopher, Michael, David, Michelle, Colleen and Gary; and eight great-grandchildren.
   The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
   Visiting hours will be noon until the time of service.
   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 300 East Bay Drive, Largo, FL 33770.
Bessie R. Russell

   MADISON — Bessie R. Russell died Wednesday at King James Care Center in Chatham. She was 85.
   Born in Ossining, N.Y., she worked in the auditing department of Public Service Electric & Gas Co. in Newark and more recently was a homemaker.
   Wife of the late C. Benjamin Russell, sister of the late Robert Reitzel, she is survived by son Richard of Madison; sons and daughters-in-law George and Betsy of Madison and Robert and Ann of Princeton; daughter and son-in-law Janet and Kevin Doherty of Green Village; grandchildren Amy and Brandon Doherty and Jennifer Rousseau; and great-grandchildren Daniel and Brianne Rousseau.
   The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham. A committal service will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Chapel, Basking Ridge.
   Calling hours are 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 29 Prospect St., Madison.
