Aerobic Step-Combo
Bordentown CE/R is offering an aerobic step-combo class this summer instructed by Christine Carson. Classes are from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning on July 3 at the Bordentown Township Senior Community Center, Municipal Drive.
Registrations will be taken in person before the beginning of class on Tuesday, July 3, (5:45 p.m class beings 6 p.m. first night only) and Thursday, July 5, (6:15 p.m. class begins for all remaining dates at 6:30 p.m.) The fee is $66 for 22 classes (2 nights/week or $33 for 11 classes 1 night/week.) Ladies Auxiliary
annual auction
The Ladies Auxiliary, Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085, 11 Amboy Road, Bordentown, will hold their annual auction at 7:30 p.m. on June 28. Doors open at 6:30 with an entrance fee of $3. Refreshments will be served. Call 584-0828 or 586-6454 for more information.
Shoe factory
information needed
A dollmaker searching for information on the Bordentown Shoe Factory is looking for help from longtime Bordentown residents. The factory manufactured doll shoes in the 1800s. Information is needed for a historical thesis pertaining to antique dolls. Photos, maps and written information are needed and would be greatly appreciated.

Education Foundation
The newly-formed Bordentown Regional School District Education Foundation is soliciting membership to its board of trustees. The foundation was created to provide supplemental educational programs that would not normally be made available through the school board budget.

Memorial monument
The Roebling Garden Club is seeking donations to purchase and erect a monument to honor Dr. J. Howard Hornberger at his gravesite at Cedar Hill Cemetery. A booklet also is being prepared including anecdotes, memories and stories about Dr. Hornberger, who served the community for 40 years as a local physician.
Donations in any amount, as well as personal memories, may be sent to The Roebling Garden Club, c/o Loretta Varga, 20 Fourth Ave., Roebling, N.J. 08554.
Preschool registration
New Hanover Township School is pre-registering children for the September 4-year-old preschool class. Children must live in Wrightstown or New Hanover Township and be 4 years old by Sept. 30 to enroll.

Kindergarten
registration
Kindergarten registration for the 2001-2002 school year has started at Holy Assumption School, Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Call the school office at 499-0045 for the appropriate paperwork. Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30 to enroll.
Preschool evaluations
Parents of preschool children ages 2½ to 5 who are developing or learning differently can contact Phyllis B. Trobman, Child Study Team director at the John Hydock Elementary School, at 298-4768 for information regarding evaluations for special education and related services.
Bordentown seniors
The Bordentown Township Senior Citizens Club meets the first and third Monday of the month. Township seniors 55 and older are welcome.
The club sponsors a trip to Atlantic City every third Tuesday. For more details, call 298-4396.
Dance motivation (exercise) classes are held from 11 a.m. to noon every Friday.
Book discussion
The classic book discussion group will meet at 8 p.m. June 28 at By the Book. The selection is "An Inconvenient Woman" by Dominick Dunne.

History in Bloom
The Bordentown Historical Society will sponsor its annual garden tour, "History in Bloom," from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $1 for children and can be picked up the day of the tour at the Friends Meeting House, 302 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.

Flea market
The Friends of St. Mary’s School will hold a flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday in the school gym and parking lot, 30 Elizabeth St., Bordentown. There will be a cake sale and free door prizes, and lunch will be available.

Vacation Bible school
Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 280 Crosswicks Road, Bordentown, will hold its vacation Bible school from 6 to 8 p.m. June 25-29. This year’s theme is "Explore the Mystery Mansion Unlocking God’s Truth." Children ages 3-14 are invited to come solve many mysteries and look for the missing heirs of the mansion. The program includes creative learning activities, music, crafts, games, snacks and more.

Garden tour
The Roebling Garden Club will sponsor its first Garden and House Tour from 2 to 6 p.m. June 30. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 the day of the tour. There will be free door prizes, including a handmade quilt, a painting by local artist Nancy Bleier and baskets of flowers. Rain date is July 1.

St. Mary’s trips
The Friends of St. Mary’s School will sponsor the following trips this fall that are open to the public.
A trip to the Brownstone Inn in Wayne to celebrate Oktoberfest is planned for Oct. 23. There will be a trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse to see a Christmas musical show on Nov. 1.

Sept. 17-21 Five-day Ocean City trip, $349, includes four breakfasts and dinners, shows and entertainment, Dover Downs slots, boat ride, visits to winery and Rehoboth Beach.
Dec. 2-4 "Festival of Lights" Wheeling, W.Va. tour, $149. Included are a six-mile drive through the Festival of Lights, guided tour of the "City of Murals" and gaming at Mountaineer Resort.
Dec. 19 Christmas dinner show at American Music Theatre, including dinner at Willow Valley and shopping at Rockvale Square.

Toastmasters
meetings
The Silver Tongues chapter of Toastmasters meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at the Londonshire Restaurant, Route 130, Burlington. Toastmasters is a national non-profit organization that helps members become better communicators and public speakers.

GED program
Bordentown Community Education/Recreation offers a free preparation program for those interested in obtaining their GED diploma. Classes are designed to allow students to attend two nights per week, study at their own pace and take the GED test when they are prepared.
The GED test is administered in both English and Spanish. Instruction focuses on review and development needs in test areas of English, math, science and social studies.
