• A patriotic picnic will be held on July 6 beginning at noon at the Jackson Senior Citizens Community Center, 45 Don Connor Boulevard. A red, white and blue parade will start the day. • Books Over 100 years old is the title of a special exhibit of books currently on display in the main gallery of the Adelphia Art Center complex, through July 15. • Offshore powerboat parade will take place on July 18 at 6 p.m. starting at the Elks Club on Arnold Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach. After the parade, boats will be displayed until July 19, followed by the Offshore Powerboat Race to take place on July 20.

• Harry O’Claire Chapter No. 637 of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) will hold its July meeting on July 19 at 1 p.m. in the Lakewood Library, Lexington Avenue.
