Green Wave extends thanks to circus supporters

The Green Wave Football Association takes this opportunity to publicly thank all those who helped to make the L.E. Barnes Three-Ring circus such an outstanding success. Because of their support, we will be able to add to our scholarship fund and further the nutrition program for the benefit of the members of the Long Branch High School football team.

From the opening whistle of City Administrator Howard Woolley to the last performance attended by a "busting at the seams" standing-room-only crowd, this event was a winner. Approximately 5,000 people enjoyed the four performances and, judging from the smiling faces of both young and old, I would have to say a great time was had by all.

This event would not have been possible without the support of Mayor Adam Schneider; City Administrator Howard Woolley; Director of Public Works Fred Migliaccio; Supervisor of Parks and Recreation Lou DeLauro; Sgt. Bruce Johantgen of the Long Branch Police Department; and the Explorer Group — for crowd control and ensuring public safety; Board of Health Director Dave Roach; Fire Marshal Kevin Hayes; and Joseph Pawlak of the New Jersey-American Water Co.

Our hats are off to all of you who came out and participated in this fund-raising event.
