Plays-in-the-Park will
offer musical ‘Peter Pan’

Middlesex County’s Plays-in-the-Park will continue its 2001 summer season with the classic musical Peter Pan, beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 15 at the Stephen J. Capestro Theater in Roosevelt Park, Edison.

The show will play for 10 performances, closing Saturday night, Aug. 25. There will be no performance on Aug. 19.

Inspired by the Sir James Barrie play, Peter Pan tells the story of a boy who refuses to grow up and follows his adventures in Never-Never Land with Captain Hook, Tinkerbell, pirates and Indians. The flying effects will be done by ZFX, the same firm responsible for the recent Cathy Rigby video version of the play.

The box office will open at 5:30 p.m. on performance nights. Patrons may place their low-back lawn chairs on the outdoor seating area immediately after purchasing a ticket. Adult admission is $3. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free of charge.

The theater is located off Route 1 south, one block past the Menlo Park shopping mall.
