CRANBURY Billy Joseph Carter, 66, died Sunday at home.
Born in Florida, he lived in Trenton before moving to Cranbury in 1965.
He was a member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church and its Usher Board, senior choir, male choir, trustee board, Laymen Movement and Sea Coast Association. In 1985, he was ordained to the Deacon Board.
He retired in 1997 from Carter-Wallace Corp. and in 2001 from the Cranbury Police Department.
Son of the late Deacon Joe Carter and brother of the late Ardelbert Carter, he is survived by his wife, Vilue Carter; three daughters, Sandra Driver of Hightstown, Susan Harris of East Windsor and Eldora McCall of Cranbury; a son, Joseph; his mother, Dessie Carter of Roosevelt; a sister, Ernestine of Roosevelt; two sons-in-law, Billy Driver and Walter Harris; five grandchildren, Steven Counts, Jason and Leah Driver, Shanice McCall and Krystal Harris; and friends Annie T. Brown and Charles Carroll.
