Calling all cooks: Share your favorite recipes with others

In the animated cartoon, "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," Peppermint Patty, whose company is as pleasant as a 5 a.m. jackhammer, basically bullies Charlie Brown into cooking, for her and her friends, a full-course Thanksgiving meal.

Charles, the wishy-washy sod that he is, has no recourse but to complain bitterly after he hangs up with her on the phone.
"I can’t cook a Thanksgiving dinner!" he wails. "All I can make is cold cereal and maybe toast!"
It’s a pity Charlie Brown doesn’t live in northern Burlington County. Chances are, if he did, he’d have a neighbor who could share with him a few good recipes.
Cooking seems to be a major part of the lives of local residents, whether the recipes are ethnic masterpieces or a new twist on standard fare.
The Register-News wants area residents to share their culinary specialties with the readers. For as long as we receive them, the paper will have a weekly column called "What’s Cookin?" featuring local submitted recipes.
Any type of recipe will do — dessert, entree, main course, drink, pastry, you name it. It can vary from a recipe you found in a cookbook that you enjoy making to a family recipe passed down from generation to generation.
From the unique, to dinner’s old favorites, we want to know how you’re making a meal. No doubt fellow readers and food lovers will want to know too. You may also tell us about the recipe if it has a family history or an amusing story behind it.
All we ask is that the recipes sent in are typed or neatly written. Please include your name, the town you live in and phone number. Your number will not be published. It is needed for verification and gives us another way to reach you if we have a question.
   Please send you recipes to:
