HILLSBOROUGH Thaddeus "Ted" Walenczyk died on Aug. 12 in Hillsborough. He was 79.
He was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Hillsborough 49 years ago.
Mr. Walenczyk was a machinist with Union Carbide in Bound Brook for 30 years retiring in 1984.
He was an ex-chief of the Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 where he was an active member for 49 years, a member of the N.J. Fire Chiefs Association, the VFW Post 8371 of Hillsborough, and the Hillsborough Senior Citizens Chapter A.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Millstone, Hillsborough.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian (Kraus) Walenczyk; a son, Michael T. of Hillsborough; two daughters, Christine M. Hnidj of Branchburg and Diane Carmichael of Tempe, Ariz.; two sisters, MaryPniewski of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Frances Paczowski and Anna Walenczyk of Staten Island, N.Y.; and one grandchild.
A funeral service is being held today, Thursday, at 8:45a.m. in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, Hillsborough, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass St. Joseph’s Church, Millstone. Burial will be in Neshanic Cemetery, Hillsborough.
