William Jahr

   CRANBURY — William F. Jahr III, 56, died Saturday, Aug. 25, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born in Fort Jackson, S.C., he was a longtime Piscataway resident before moving to Cranbury.
   He retired in 1988 after 28 years as a detective with the Piscataway Police Department.
   He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
   He was second vice president of the State Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 93, Piscataway.
   He was a member of the Hightstown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5700 and Hightstown American Legion 148.
   He enjoyed golf and was member of Peddie Golf Club.
   Son of the late William F. II, he is survived by his wife, Kendra W. Jahr; his mother, Agnes Robel Jahr; three sons, Joseph E. of Danbury, Conn., and John J. and Jamey J. of Edison; two stepsons, Randy W. Eisenbauer of Ewing and Richard W. Eisenbauer of Lawrenceville; a brother, Thomas of Avenel; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Richard Kalnas of Redlands, Calif.; six grandchildren, Samantha and J.T. Eisenbauer, Jonathan and Joey Jahr and Tim and Lianna Eisenbauer; and other relatives.
   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 30, at Queenship of Mary R.C. Church, 16 Dey Road, Plainsboro.
   Cremains will be interred in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
   Calling hours will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at A.S. Cole, Son & Co. Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Cranbury. An American Legion Post 148 service will held at be 8 p.m.
