Monmouth Coastal Watersheds hold logo contest

Monmouth Coastal Watersheds Partnership Area 12 is sponsoring a logo contest to raise public awareness of the watershed and how the actions of residents and visitors affect its health.

The prize is $500 for the winning logo, which will be used on educational outreach projects and as letterhead.

Monmouth Coastal Watersheds are a collection of small watersheds that drain to either Raritan Bay or the Atlantic Ocean.

This 333-square-mile watershed area includes portions of 56 municipalities in Monmouth, Middlesex and Ocean counties extending from Perth Amboy to Point Pleasant.

All entries must represent natural resources found in the Monmouth Coastal Watershed Area.

All artwork will be judged on relevancy to the watershed (50 percent), visual effectiveness (25 percent), and originality (25 percent).

For an entry form and contest information, call the Freehold Soil Conservation District at (732) 446-2300, or visit the Web site www.VisitMonmouth.com/area12. The Deadline for entering the contest is Oct. 1.
