Manalapan’s Elyse Bizzozzaro played forward/halfback on the HBC Magic, a Long Island-based girls’ U-18 soccer team that finished third in the country this summer. The Magic won the New York State Championship and the Region I (states from West Virginia to Maine) title to earn a trip to Indiana for the national championships where they finished third.

Bizzozzaro was an All-State player for Manalapan High School where she helped lead the Braves to the Central Jersey Group IV championship and Shore Conference A North Division crown. She was a starter with the Flying Dutchmen last fall before hurting her knee. Hofstra’s 2002 schedule includes two games at Rutgers University on Sept. 14 and 16.
