EAST WINDSOR Anna Bahrey, 91, died Friday, Aug. 24, at Genesis ElderCare Cranbury Center, Monroe.
Born in Lansford, Pa., she lived in Newark and Irvington 50 years before moving to East Windsor 15 years ago.
She was a seamstress many years, retiring from Gladys Sportswear of Newark 26 years ago.
She had been a member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union and Ukrainian Home of Newark, where she sang and performed traditional Ukrainian folklore.
Wife of the late Dmytri Bahrey, daughter of the late John Leno and Pelaigia Lesenta and sister of the late Mary Leno Malyszka, Michael and Andrew Leno and Katherine Leno Golumbuski, she is survived by a nephew and niece, Stephen and Penny Malyszka of East Windsor; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Sandra and Matthew LoPiccolo of Maplewood and Stephen Martin and Anna Malyszka of Somerset.
Funeral was Monday from Union Funeral Home-Lytwyn & Lytwyn, Union.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Maplewood.
Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery, Union.
