Henry J. ‘Hank’ Fortier, 72

   NEW HOPE — Henry J. "Hank" Fortier of New Hope died Sunday, Aug. 26, at home. He was 72.
   He was the longtime partner of Edward J. Zekas.
   Mr. Fortier was born in Cambria Heights, New York City. He and his partner maintained a weekend home in Solebury for several years before becoming permanent residents there in 1996.
   He served as a corporal in the Army during the Korean War.
   He took early retirement in 1980 from American Telephone and Telegraph Co., where he served as a staff supervisor in the long lines division.
   In his retirement years, Mr. Fortier was a volunteer in various community organizations. He became a home improvement craftsman. In addition, he was a political buff and enjoyed classical music, theater and gardening.
   He and his partner maintained an extensive rooftop terrace garden at their New York apartment for many years.
   In addition to his partner, he is survived by his mother, Beatrice Boise Fortier of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three sisters, Therese Willig of St. Petersburg, Lillian Brady of Levittown, N.Y., and Gloria Rorech of Sunset Beach, N.C.; a brother, Paul Fortier of Topanga, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
   Burial will be in St. Petersburg. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
