Donations of books sought prior to Sept. 10.
NEW HOPE The New Hope-Solebury Free Library is preparing for its fall book sale to be held at the library from Sept. 14 to 22.
Mary Ann Reeser, coordinator of the event, has requested those wishing to donate books should do so prior to Sept. 10.
Books on gardening, art, photography and cookbooks are continued favorites with the patrons of the book sales. The library also welcomes books on tape, videos and CDs. If the donation includes a book in good condition the library doesn’t own, it will be considered for inclusion in its regular collection.
Do not donate encyclopedias, textbooks or books in poor condition.
These book sales provide the library with one of its biggest sources of income. Those who want to be notified of upcoming sales should leave their name and address at the front desk.
Books are restocked by book sale volunteers regularly, and "special finds" are not held back for the book sales. Recent finds have included Janet Evanovich’s latest mystery, "Seven Up," which was sold for one-fifth of its bookstore price. Those with children or grandchildren should check the ongoing sale of children’s book downstairs.
The upcoming book sale will include a special collector’s section, which will feature books selling on Internet sites. Prices will be slashed Sept. 22, the final day of the sale.
The library is located at 93 W. Ferry St. and is open six days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with evening hours Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until 7 p.m.
