NEW HOPE Robert T. Halstrick, 77, of New Hope died Wednesday, Aug. 29, at his home.
He was the son of the late Herman J. Halstrick and Margaret T. Halstrick.
Mr. Halstrick graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering. Years later, he founded Scotland Rack Ltd., a shelving manufacturing company in Bensalem and its sister company, Specialty Shelving Inc. At his death, he was president and CEO of both companies.
Mr. Halstrick loved history, theater, sports cars, classical music and trains. He designed and built a number of model railroads. He was published several times in model railroader magazines.
He and his wife, Susan, traveled in later years, visiting Europe, Russia and Alaska, frequently riding trains.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Pam of New Hope; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Bill Pedrick; a stepson, John White; and three grandchildren, Bill Halstrick and Meg and Kate Pedrick.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Sept. 1, at Doylestown Presbyterian Church.
