   PLUMSTED — Phoebe E. Halpin, 88, died Saturday, Sept. 1, at Virtua-Memorial Hospital, Mount Holly.
   Born in Stratford, N.H., she was a longtime resident of East Haven, Vt., and New Egypt.
   She had retired as a school teacher in East Haven.
   She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Humphrey of New Egypt; two sons, Ray Ingalls of Ile des Chenes, Manitoba, and John Ingalls of Cream Ridge; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
   Graveside service and burial will be at East Haven (Vt.) Cemetery.
   Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
   Arrangements are by Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt.
Mario J. Caruso
   HAMILTON — Mario J. Caruso, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 2, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born in Schenectady, N.Y., he was a lifelong Hamilton resident.
   He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired 20 years ago after many years with Trenton Transit and its successors. He was an officer with the credit union. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Hamilton.
   Husband of the late Mildred C. Caruso, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. and Carol Peroni Caruso of Robbinsville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Hazel A. Rogaczewski of Yardville, and Diana C. and H. Bruce Osborne of Vermont; five grandchildren and two spouses, T. Matthew Caruso, Todd and Judy Rogaczewski, Holly Rogaczewski, Beth and Tim Chatterton, and Jason Osborne; a great-grandson, Justin Rogaczewski; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Rose Tammaro of Cranbury, Angie Braun of Mercerville, Mary and husband Ed Carter of Lawrence, and Jennie Cota of Yardville; a brother and sister-in-law, Angelo and Phyllis Dinardo of Pleasantville; and nieces and nephews.
   Funeral was at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
   Funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 3816 E. State St. Extension, Hamilton.
   Burial was in Princeton Memorial Park, Washington Township.

Clarence G. Anderson
   PLUMSTED — Clarence G. Anderson, 76, died Thursday, Aug. 30, at his daughter’s home in New Egypt.
   Born in Lakewood, he was a longtime New Egypt resident and had lived in Florida.
   Mr. Anderson was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired as a self-employed auto mechanic.
   Father of the late Joyce Michalchuk and Henry, and brother of the late Joyce Crookshank, he is survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Donald Bingham of Florida, Barbara and George Stillwell and Darlene and Fred Maier of New Egypt, Cynthia and Glenn Willis of North Carolina and Patricia Taylor of Virginia; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Julia Anderson of Georgia; a sister, Dorethea Book of Louisiana; a brother, Arthur of Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other family members, Kenny, Tracey, Howard, Linda, Rosie and Leona.
   Funeral was at Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Beverly, pastor, officiating.
   Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.

William Bertram
   COTTONWOOD, Ariz. — William "Pete" Bertram, 68, died Friday, Aug. 31.
   Born in Binghamton, N.Y., he was a longtime Trenton resident before moving to Cottonwood six years ago.
   He retired after 35 years as an accountant with U.S. Steel Corp., Fairless Hills, Pa.
   He had been a security guard with Pinkerton Security and was a security guard at Verde Valley Medical Center.
   Son of the late Russell and Mary Katysha Bertram, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marinetta "Mary" Mastronard Bertram; a son, Peter of New Egypt; three daughters, Kathleen Bertram and Debra Jo Philhower, both of Trenton, and Terri Hall of Marlton; a brother, Bob of Binghamton; two sisters, Elizabeth and Beverly Bertram of Binghamton; and six grandchildren.
   Funeral and burial were private.
   Arrangements are by Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood.
