Donna Cubit-Swoyer was named interim school business administrator and board secretary Aug. 28 by the Lawrence Township Board of Education.
Dr. Cubit-Swoyer starts work Sept. 19, two days before the departure of current School Business Administrator and Board Secretary Nicholas
Puleio. He is leaving to take the same post in the Brick Township public schools.
Dr. Cubit-Swoyer will be paid $500 per day for her services.
The school district has launched a search for a permanent business administrator, said Max Riley, superintendent of schools. The post has been advertised. Applications will be screened later this month, and then interviews will be scheduled. The goal is to fill the job by Jan. 1, Dr. Riley said.
Dr. Cubit-Swoyer lives in Freehold. She retired in 1998 as the assistant superintendent at the Upper Freehold Regional School District in Allentown. She had worked as the business administrator and board secretary in that district.
She served as the interim superintendent of schools in the Upper Freehold school district, and as the interim business administrator and board secretary in three school districts.
Dr. Cubit-Swoyer earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa, and a master’s degree in counseling and psychology from the University of Wisconsin. She earned a doctorate in education degree in administration and supervision from Rutgers University.
