MILLSTONE Joseph J. Posda died Monday, Sept. 3, in Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. He was 86.
Born in Plymouth, Pa., he grew up in Wilkes Barre Pa., and lived in Manville before moving to Millstone in 1952.
Mr. Posda was a maintenance supervisor with Johns-Manville Corp. in Manville for 37 years retiring in 1974.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and a member of their Holy Name Society.
Mr. Posda was a former Board of Education member in Millstone and a member of the Quarter Century Club with Johns-Manville.
His wife, Stella Posda, died in 2000. Surviving are two daughters, Carol I. Simonsen of West Islip, N.Y. and JoAnn P. Fisher of Hillsborough; two sons, Joseph M. of Flemington and James of Mount Pleasant, S.C., his sister Lena Vrabel of Liverpool, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 8 in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, Hillsborough, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Yorktown Rd., Millstone. Burial will be Neshanic Cemetery, Hillsborough.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sept. 7 in the funeral home.
