Youth survey data is topic of community meeting, Oct. 18

Consultants from Search Institute will be facilitating a community meeting on Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hopewell Valley Central High School auditorium.
The meeting — "What’s Up With Our Kids? — will include a presentation of survey data gathered from students in grades six-12 in Timberlane Middle and Hopewell Valley Central High schools last spring.
Community leaders, educators, religious leaders, parents, youth, business people, law enforcement personnel, youth workers, and others interested in children and youth in the community are invited to hear about the strengths and needs of Hopewell Valley youth — based on data from their own report.
Survey data will be interpreted and concrete actions the community can use to build on its strengths will be explored.
On Oct. 19 and 20, 75 young people and adults will work together to create a shared vision of a supportive community for youth and create an action plan for mobilizing the community to make that vision a reality.
These events are being sponsored by the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance in partnership with the Hopewell Valley Regional School District, Merrill Lynch, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Lutheran Brotherhood.
Questions about the events can be directed to the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance at 737-0120, ext. 642.
