Edward L. Boulogne Jr., 69, of Jamesburg died Saturday at Cranbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Monroe.
Born in Flushing, Queens, N.Y., he had been a resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., prior to moving to Jamesburg in 1960.
An employee of the George W. Helme Co., first in the New York City office and later in the plant in Helmetta where he headed the new data-processing department, Mr. Boulogne was most recently a school crossing guard in Jamesburg. He had served in the Air National Guard.
He was a charter member, past officer and Knight of the Year of St. James Knights of Columbus Council 6336, Jamesburg, where he and his wife were the former editors of the Kaper monthly newsletter. He was a 4th Degree member of the Immaculate Conception Assembly in Spotswood.
Mr. Boulogne was head usher at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Jamesburg for 30 years. He was also a bingo volunteer there for many years and had directed the CCD program at one time.
His parents, Edward Sr. and Mary Boulogne, are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Donnelly Boulogne; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Susan Boulogne of Jamesburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Mike Walsh of Old Bridge, Cathy and Wayne Speranza of Monroe and Janine and Mark Balascak of Plainsboro and seven grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday at Lester Memorial Home, Jamesburg, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. James RC Church and entombment at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick.
