Lawrence Ellenport, 86

   Lawrence Ellenport, 86, died Saturday at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
   Born in Newark, he had been a resident of Irvington, Union and Scotch Plains prior to moving to Monroe eight years ago.
   A veteran of World War II where he had served in the Army as a sergeant, Mr. Ellenport was a member of the Jewish War Veterans of Monroe. He also was a member of Temple Beth Shalom in Union where he was the treasurer of the Men’s Club, and he was a member of the Workmans Circle of Elizabeth.
   His wife, Clara Ellenport, is deceased.
   He is survived by his sons Samuel Ellenport and Robert Ellenport, former mayor of Clark; his daughters-in-law, Avril Ellenport and Beverly Ellenport; his grandchildren, Aaron and Rachel Ellenport and sisters, Mary Kaplan and Irene Halmo.
   Services were held at Menorah Chapels at Millburn in Union, followed by burial in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin.
