All after-school activities at Hillsborough schools were cancelled today, as well as township meetings and events.
Several local churches scheduled special prayer services, including Hillsborough’s Mary Mother of God Church, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Neshanic Reformed Church and the Chabad of Greater Somerset County.
A severe shortage of blood caused calls for donations, however, Somerset Medical Center personnel noted a four-hour wait for those attempting to donate blood Tuesday afternoon. Those interested in donating blood should go to the hospital on Wednesday instead.
Signups for Township Recreation programs have been cancelled.
St. Joseph’s RC Church in Millstone has cancelled CCD classes for Tuesday.
Mary Mother of God Church on South Triangle Road has cancelled this afternoons CCD classes and is holding a special Mass at 7:30 p.m. "for our country and the victims" of this mornings attacks, according to Father Liam.
A community prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at the Neshanic Reformed Church at Amwell Road and River Road.
The Chabad of Greater Somerset County is holding special prayer service for the victims of the trerrorist attacks at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Chabad, 3048 Valley Road, Basking Ridge.
Catholic Charities and the Jointure After School Care Program will operate on a regular schedule today.
Raritan Valley Community College has cancelled all classes for Tuesday.
