Elwood C. Verde, of Trenton, was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief, police said.
On Aug. 22, Patrolman Mark Costner was sent on a patrol alert for R.W. Tire because of reports of a person found sleeping in a cab of a truck used for deliveries, police said.
According to police, the Mr. Verde also was found urinating and defecating in the parking lot near the delivery truck and in the cab of the truck itself.
Mr. Verde was taken into custody and was identified by an employee of R.W. Tire, police said.
Mr. Verde was taken to Burlington County Jail, and was held for having active warrants.
On Aug. 15, a Hamilton man came into the police station to report a Dell laptop computer and a black leather portfolio with his bank book and check book had been stolen from his black 1999 Nissan Altima the night before, police said.
The victim said that he had parked and locked his car in the parking lot of Jim’s Tavern at 6:30 p.m., police said.
He left the tavern at 9 p.m., and found the items missing the next morning, police said.
According to police reports, the victim does not believe the items were stolen in his driveway, and there was no sign of forced entry.
Michelle Spallone, of Riverside, was charged with engaging in prostitution, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
On Aug. 26, Detective Brian Pesce was patrolling the Laurel Notch Motel and was approached by two guests who stated that a woman at the motel was engaged in prostitution, and that an ad placed in a local daily newspaper, police said.
The guests then gave Detective Pesce a copy of the ad, police said.
According to police reports, the detective phoned the woman in the ad, named "Dana," who told the detective that she charged $175 for a one-hour session.
On Aug. 30, Detective Pesce called "Dana," who told him to come to room #113 at the motel, police said.
According to police, Ms. Spallone was a heroin addict who paid for her habit through prostitution.
Police found seven bags of heroin, three loose pieces of crack cocaine, four glassine baggies with cocaine residue, and various paraphernalia on Ms. Spallone, police said.
BORDENTOWN CITY
A local auto dealership reported parts stolen from a 2002 model vehicle at 4:57 p.m. on Aug. 14, police said.
Police said a vehicle parked on the lot had more than $3,000 worth of parts removed from under the hood and exterior.
Police said a Second Street resident reported criminal mischief to her car at 9:31 a.m. on Aug. 27.
The car sustained scratches to the hood only, and the repair cost was unknown, police said.
At 12:01 p.m. on Aug. 28 a resident reported that a vehicle left parked on Park Street was burglarized the night before, said police.
Police said $55 was reported stolen from the car, in addition to a wallet and two walkie-talkies.
The estimated value of stolen items is $154, said police.
FLORENCE
A tractor-trailer hauling milk overturned at 6:55 a.m. on Monday while attempting to negotiate a left turn from Florence-Columbus Road onto southbound Route 130, said police.
The truck overturned and struck a utility pole, causing live wires to fall onto the road, said police.
The trailer spilled its contents onto the roadway and into storm drains, said police.
A small amount of oil leaked onto the roadway and live wires caused several holes to form on the road surface of Route 130, causing power outages in the area, said police.
The driver, William Czap of Chambersburg, Pa., was transported by Florence Emergency Squad to Capital Health System, Fuld Campus, in Trenton and treated for facial lacerations, said police.
