Tara Andrews will replace Michael Corradino as the Democratic candidate for this year’s Borough Council election.
Mr. Corradino announced last Thursday that he is withdrawing from the November election due to job commitments and a strong possibility that he may be moving out of the borough within the next three years.
"I wish to thank the people of Manville who supported me in the primary election and ask for their support on the November ballot for Tara Andrews, who I believe will serve Manville dedication," Mr. Corradino said in a prepared statement.
"We feel that Tara will serve Manville with the same diligence integrity and dedication as the Democratic Council persons now serving the Manville Council," said Gerry Repka, campaign manager to Ms. Andrews. "She will bring to the council fresh new ideas and will work with the mayor and council with only the best interests of Manville in mind."
Ms. Andrews joins Borough Council President Stanley Jasiak on the ballot for the Democrats. They will face Borough Councilman Michael Polak and former Board of Education president Sue Asher.
