Diane McNamara Fields, 59, of Dayton died Friday, Sept. 14, at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick.
She was born in Hightstown and lived in Dayton for many years.
She was a registered nurse at Rossmoor Health Care Center, Monroe.
She was a 1964 graduate of Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Ms. Fields had served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. She was a graduate of Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island and served at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital. She was later a head nurse at the Coronary Intensive Care Unit at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Lewis A. Fields; two sons, Christopher A. and Timothy Fields, both at home and two brothers, Dr. John R. McNamara, of Norwalk, Conn., and J. Dennis McNamara, of Brick Township.
Calling hours were held at the Higgins Memorial Home Wednesday. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated today (Thursday) at 10 a.m., followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery, Allentown.
