John F. Knobl
   John F. Knobl, 73, died Saturday at Emmerson Hospital, Concord, Mass.
   Born in Trenton, he lived in Pennington 47 years before moving to Lawrenceville.
   He was an engineer for General Motors Corp. 37 years and a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Pennington, 47 years. Mr. Knobl enjoyed golf and art classes.
   Son of the late John M. and Dora Ginter Knobl, he is survived by his wife, H. Lorraine Knobl; a son and daughter-in-law, John F. Jr. and Maura Knobl of Yardley, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristine K. and Thomas A. Palombo of Pennington, Diane M. and Jeffrey R. Jolly of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Kevin and Courtney Knobl, Sarah, Michael and Emily Palombo and Joshua and Rebecca Jolly; and nieces and nephews.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. today, Thursday, at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 115 E. Delaware Ave., Pennington.
   Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamilton.
   Calling hours will be 9 to 9:30 a.m. today, Thursday, at Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington Circle, Hopewell Township.

Motrona P. Rewar
   Motrona P. Rewar, 85, of Yardville, died Saturday at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital, Trenton.
   Born in Ukraine, she lived in Syracuse, N.Y., before moving to Yardville 20 years ago.
   She retired as a seamstress and was a member of St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its sisterhood. She enjoyed gardening.
   Daughter of the late Makian and Horpina Pilypenko, wife of the late Dimitri Rewar, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn "Olya" and Walter Truskalo of Titusville; a son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Idalia Rewar of Los Angeles; three granddaughters, Elizabeth, Irene and Lillian Truskalo; two sisters; and nieces and nephews.
   Divine liturgy was Wednesday in St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church, with the Rev. John Fatenko officiating.
   Burial was in St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, South Bound Brook.
Mildred Lawrence
   Mildred Lawrence, 83, died Saturday in Paul Kimble Memorial Hospital, Lakewood.
   Born in Trenton, she lived in Hopewell Township 36 years before recently moving to Whiting.
   She had worked for Pennington Market 29 years. She was a former member and officer of Pennington Road Fire Co. and was a member of Pennington Grange 64 for 40 years. She was a member of Crestwood Ecumenical Church and a former member of Titusville Presbyterian Church.
   Daughter of the late Henry and Jessie Smith and wife of the late Carleton A. Lawrence, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Kenneth Bodine of Titusville; a son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Connie Lawrence of Hernando, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Dennis Bodine, Michelle Marte and Christopher and Eric Lawrence.
   Funeral was Wednesday at Blackwell Memorial Home, Pennington, with the Rev. William Shaub of Titusville Presbyterian Church officiating.
   Burial will be private.

James W. Bell Sr.
   James W. "Red Bone" Bell Sr., 86, died Friday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born in Camden, he lived in Hamilton more than 50 years. He retired after many years with the Hamilton Board of Education and was a member of Pearson Memorial United Methodist Church.
   Son of the late Benjamin and Sarah Smith Bell and brother of the late Benjamin Bell and Mary Ronca, he is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lillian Rogers Bell; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James W. Jr. and Eileen Bell of Trenton, David J. and Gail Bell of Hamilton and John R. Bell of Waretown; two daughters and a son-in-law, Eileen and Joseph Toth of Hopewell and Patricia Smith of Hamilton; two brothers, Marvin Bell of Hamilton and Fred Bell of Ewing; a friend, John Golinski of Hamilton; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Funeral was Tuesday from Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, Yardville-Allentown Road. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Church of the Holy Angels.
   Burial was in Bordentown Cemetery.

Charles W. Boozan
   Charles William Boozan, M.D. died Sept. 5 at his home in Sea Girt at the age of 82.
   Dr. Boozan grew up in Elizabeth, where he graduated from the Pingry School in 1936. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and graduated from the Cornell Medical College in 1943.
   He rose to the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army as a physician stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war, he returned to the states where he completed his internship in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital, and later his residency in Ophthalmology at Bellevue Hospital, New York. In 1951 He was an attending ophthalmologist at the Elizabeth General Medical Center, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, and Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elizabeth, which have now merged as Trinitas Hospital.
   Dr. Boozan retired from private practice in 1990.
   He is survived by his wife, Mona Meehan Boozan of Elizabeth; three sons, William Boozan, M.D. of New York City, John Boozan, M.D. of Summit, James A. Boozan, M.D. of Pennington; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Lynch of Roslyn, Long Island.
   A wake was held Sept. 7 at the Meehan Funeral Home in Spring Lake Heights.
