Township Council plans to hold a public hearing Tuesday on two ordinances that pave the way to purchase the Trent Motel on Brunswick Pike.
One ordinance authorizes the township to buy the motel for the purpose of replacing it with senior citizen housing. The second ordinance allocates $1.9 million to buy it.
Township Council will meet at 8 p.m. in the courtroom at the municipal building. The council’s regular meeting was rescheduled from Sept. 18 because of Rosh Hashanah.
In other business, the council plans to introduce an ordinance allocating $73,543 to replace sidewalks, curbs and driveways in front of houses scattered throughout the township. The work is being done in connection with the road program. The affected property owners will be assessed by the township for the work.
