Vandalism not worthy of Manville citizens

To the editor

When Manville’s black church was destroyed by fire I knew that it was an accident. When the investigation was complete and arson was ruled out I was proud to have put my faith in my towns-people.
Now, shame on whoever broke the windows of one of our Muslim businessmen. You bring shame on me and my town. When you conspire in the dark, you are the terrorist!
I was fortunate to consider this man my friend. Now I worry that he views me with suspicion also, as he tries to protect his family and business.
This man has always helped, when asked, with greatly reduced or free food for functions at my church. This is a slimy way to repay his generosity.
Most everybody in town are descended from recent immigrants. We, above all others should accept differences. But I will not accept terrorists, especially in my own town.
You got a problem with that? Come and see me about it! And not like a thief in the night.
