Letter to the editor
Perhaps, in light of last week’s tragedy, we should be more wary and less tolerant of fundamentalist zealots of any cast: Jewish, Protestant, Catholic, Hindu or Muslim. These hypocrites wave about their particular brand of a "holy book," distorting passages out of context in order to demonize those with whom they disagree. This, in contrast to the very precepts of what they purport to represent.
It is possible, indeed, that God, in whatever form the Supreme Being may take, makes no distinction at all between religions and looks only at whether we conduct our lives with compassion, honesty and selflessness of spirit.
