For those of you in town who remember Becky Barlow, I have some very happy news to report.
Becky and husband John "Fitz" Fitzsimmons are the proud parents of twin girls, who were born Sept. 8. Erin Barlow arrived at 1:29 a.m., weighing in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces. Little sister Ryan Elizabeth made her debut just two minutes later, weighing 4 pounds, 7 ounces. Mom and girls were all able to leave the hospital just a few days later.
Becky, who is an attorney, and Fitz, a commercial underwriter, live in Cincinnati.

The results of the annual Cranbury Day fun run and 5K races are in and several Cranbury residents found themselves at the front of the pack. The Hightstown-East Windsor YMCA reported the top four finishers in the fun run were Rory Laughran at 6 minutes, 37 seconds, Jake Irving, 6 minutes, 41 seconds, Ramy Elshenawy, 6 minutes, 45 seconds, and Jonathan Hornyak at 7 minutes. Rory, Jake and Ramy all play for the same Cranbury soccer team and Jonathan is an 8-year-old from Cranbury.
Results of the men’s 5K race were David Demonico of South River, 16 minutes, 21 seconds; Jeff Knoll, Pennington, 16 minutes, 36 seconds; and David Rosenblatt, Robbinsville, 16 minutes, 39 seconds.
The top woman runner was Cranbury’s own Jan Arnold, coming in at 21 minutes, 44 seconds, followed by Stacey Judge of Hightstown at 23 minutes, 40 seconds The third place prize went to Elizabeth O’Grady, age 10, also of Cranbury, who finished at 24 minutes, 24 seconds This year’s competition was the second time Elizabeth ran the race alongside her father, Patrick.
Some other interesting race facts: 90 percent of the runners have participated in the Cranbury Day race more than once and there were several parent-child teams. The youngest participant was 6 years old and the oldest entrant was 65.

The Cranbury Board of Education has begun its search for a new chief school administrator and invites the community to become involved in the process.
The board has planned a Community Input Session for Monday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cranbury School cafeteria. Carole Larsen of the New Jersey School Boards Association will facilitate by explaining the search process and time-line, as well as the roles played by the local school board, school staff and the public.
Discussion will center on the strengths, concerns, on-going issues and future initiatives that will face the new administrator.
