MONROE Moscow Nights, a trio of prize-winning Russian musicians, bring a reputation for warmth, humor and musical excellence to the Monroe Township Public Library 2 p.m. Saturday.
The performance is a presentation of the Monroe Township Cultural Arts Commission.
"Award-winning musical ambassadors from Russia, Moscow Nights is an exciting, versatile trio.
"In a little over two years, Vitality Bezrodnov, Oleg Kruglyakov and Boris Kipchakov have established themselves as one of the fastest-rising musical attractions in the United States," Ina Bondy of the Cultural Arts Commission said earlier this week.
She said the three classically trained artists first scored successes in Western Europe before bringing their music to North America.
"Their repertoire is centered around masterpieces of Russian folklore and represents the diversity of the culture, ranging from gently humorous songs to elaborate lyrical suites to pulsating dance numbers. Russian folk music expresses the national character outwardly reserved and cool, but brimming within with vigor, mischievousness and vibrancy," Ms. Bondy said.
