LEDGER FORUM: Immigrants are our best citizens

I am distressed to read and hear about how Asian Indians are being harassed. I worked as a census taker for about two months, I interviewed many Indians, some were U.S. citizens and some were going through the citizenship process. Without exception they were cooperative, helpful and polite. On the other hand, many native Americans delighted in giving anyone from the "government" a hard time, sometimes being rude and refusing to give any information at all, even their names.
I am proud to have Indian neighbors and acquaintances. I think we could relearn good citizenship from them.
