Melvin C. Balunis, 54

   Melvin C. Balunis, 54, died Monday, Sept. 17, at his home in Kendall Park.
   He was born in Somerville and had lived in Somerset before moving to Kendall Park in 1986.
   He was employed as a postal worker with the United States Post Office’s Joyce Kilmer Division for 28 years. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the Air Force.
   His wife, Kathleen Arace, died last year.
   He is survived by his two brothers, Russell of Branchburg and Donald of Somerville; two sisters, Romaine Trombadore of Pleasanton, Calif., and Patricia Lauler of Bound Brook and eight nieces and nephews.
   Services were held on Friday, Sept. 21, at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset.
