Reader says politics should have been put on hold

Reading the first pages of the Sept. 19 edition of the Examiner about the traumatic events at the World Trade Center was a very emotional experience.

Imagine my dismay when I got to page 6 and saw John Pfefferkorn’s political advertisement. How insensitive can this man be? To make matters worse, there was also a political letter to the editor by Roger Staib (Mr. Pfefferkorn’s mentor). This certainly was inappropriate at this time. Even the gubernatorial candidates have called a temporary moratorium on campaigning. Do they really believe anyone would care about municipal politics at a time when such a devastating tragedy occurred, impacting our country and many other countries?

What a shame.
