EAST WINDSOR — Authorities are taking very seriously the recent phone threats made to the manager of a local pizza shop.
On Sept. 17 and 21 threatening phone calls were made to the Domino’s Pizza on Hickory Corner Road. Amir Khan, an American citizen from Pakistan, is the manager of the shop and he has hired several Pakistanis for the business, police said.
The calls have been classified as hate crimes and harassment, and police are pursuing the investigation of the incident very seriously, police said.
On Sept. 17, according to police, a caller told an employee, "I have a camel missing. Can you get my camel? Why did you do the bombing? Since you bombed us, we’ll bomb you."
Mr. Khan was unavailable for comment.
Mayor Janice Mironov noted, however, that these two calls appear to have been the only such incidents in the community.
"It is the only incident of which we are aware in town," Mayor Mironov said.
