Car wash
The sixth-graders of Junior Girl Scout Troop 5891 in Columbus will be holding a car wash from 3:30 to 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, at Paul’s Service Center on Route 206 in Bordentown. All proceeds to benefit the American Red Cross.
Roast beef dinner
The Crosswicks United Methodist Church will hold its roast beef dinner, featuring homemade pies, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, at the church on Ward Avenue and Church Street. Adults $10; children under 12 $3.50; under 3 are free; take outs 50 cents extra. For more information call 298-8423.
Fall craft show
The Yardville Presbyterian Women will sponsor their eighth annual fall craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Yardville Presbyterian Church, corner of South Broad Street and Yardville-Hamilton Square Road. The show will feature crafts, home baked goods, food and beverages, and a trinkets and treasures white elephant table. A few tables for $15 are still available. Call (609) 585-5869 for information.
Chinese auction
The St. Nicholas Church Ladies Guild will sponsor a Chinese Auction, Sunday, Oct. 7, in the pavilion at the St. Nicholas picnic grove. Exercise fund-raiser
Jazzercise will host a fund-raiser class from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7, at the Roebling Fire Hall on 69 Main Street. All proceeds will go to the World Trade Center Disaster Relief fund. No prior Jazzercise experience necessary and the fund-raiser is open to the public. Participants are asked to bring a $10 donation. Showboat trip
The Knights of Columbus 570 will sponsor a trip to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City, Sunday, Oct. 7. The cost is $15 per person and participants will receive $10 in coins. For reservations call Bob at 298-5530.

Anniversary celebration
The Shiloh Baptist Church of Bordentown will celebrate Pastor G.L. Coleman Jr.’s 27th anniversary at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14. The public is invited. Dinner will be served.

breakfast
The Holy Name Society of Holy Assumption Parish in Roebling is hosting its all you can eat breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, at McGrath Hall adjacent to the school. Menu includes eggs, home fries, sausage, pancakes, orange juice, coffee and rolls. Cost for adults $4, seniors 65 and older $3, children six to 12 $2, and children under five are free.
St. Mary’s trips
The Friends of St. Mary’s School will sponsor the following trips this fall that are open to the public.
A trip to the Brownstone Inn in Wayne to celebrate Oktoberfest is planned for Tuesday, Oct. 23. There will be a trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse to see a Christmas musical show on Thursday, Nov. 1.

Oyster supper
Reservations are now being accepted for the annual Hedding Methodist Church oyster supper, Saturday, Oct. 27, located at the intersection on Old York and Hedding-Kinkora Roads in Mansfield Township. Seatings will start at 3 p.m. and continue every half hour until 7:30 p.m. Price for adults is $17 and $8 for children under 12. Reservations must be made in advance by calling Claudia Teal, (609) 324-0729. The church bazaar will be held in the basement with a variety of handmade items and baked goods for sale.
Testimonial dinner
A testimonial dinner honoring Captain Francis Lee for his many years of service with the Bordentown City Police Department is planned for 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Days Inn, Bordentown. Tickets are available by contacting Sgt. Steve Mains, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., 298-0103. Tickets are $25 per person, buffet style dinner.
Halloween parade
The Consolidated Fire Association will sponsor the annual Halloween parade beginning at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28. Rain date is Nov. 4. Area businesses, groups and organizations wishing to participate should contact Steve McGowan, 298-9328.
