Allentown’s annual Fall Festival is sure to be one of the best. With so much hurt and worry in our recent days, it should be nice to spend the day or both days with family and friends at a good old-fashioned street fair.
Oct. 13 and 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., plan to enjoy our historic business district made up of buildings that were built as long ago as the 1700s. Shopkeepers are eager to have you browse and perhaps begin your holiday shopping. Crafters will fill the streets with unusual wares. And, while you’re shopping, enjoy the many musical and singing events this year’s committee has planned to keep you entertained.
Do bring the children. The petting zoo is a favorite, as is the Civil War encampment that sponsors a demonstration and games for youngsters on Saturday, including a vintage-era baseball game.
A popular attraction in the past — and certainly will be again this year — is the classic car show. Added and new to the festival this year will be a display of hot rods, as well.
Not a day to diet. The food court has more choices than we can list. Or, please take time out to visit our Allentown eateries.
We can just about guarantee a special day here in town. Please join us.
