Teen Trivia Contest
winners announced

Pop culture collided with traditional information at the Ocean County Library this summer and the winners were those who played the Ocean County Library’s Teen Trivia Contest 2001.

Teens participated throughout the county answering questions ranging from: "What style of music are Jay-z, Puffy, Dr. Dre and Sisquo known for?" to: "What famous building is on the nickel?"

Winners of the month-long contest were determined on July 31. This year winners received $15 gift certificates from the Ocean County Mall for answering the most correct answers at their branches. Among the winners were the following teens from the area: Ronald Clark, Jackson branch; Khadija Subbhan, Lakewood branch; and Abigail Rogers, Plumsted branch.

The contest was part of the library’s summer program and was open to all teens between the ages of 12 and 18. They were encouraged to use any available resource including: the library’s Web site, the library catalog, books, CDs, friends or family members.
