MILLTOWN — An East Brunswick juvenile was taken to St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick last week after the vehicle he was driving hit a car driven by Anna Nestor, 78, of New Brunswick.

Police said Nestor was stopped in one of the two center lanes on the northbound side of Ryders Lane, Sept. 27, attempting to make a left turn onto Blueberry Drive. According to police, as Nestor was making the turn onto Blueberry Drive, the juvenile, who was driving his car on the southbound side of Ryders Lane, hit the passenger side of Nestor’s car, causing it to be pushed into the parking lot of the Ryders Lane Farmer’s Market.

Rita Brennan, 74, of Milltown, who was sitting on the passenger side of Nestor’s car, was trapped in the vehicle, police said. Borough fire and rescue personnel were able to pry open the door and extricate Brennan, who was taken to the hospital along with the juvenile driver of the other vehicle.

Both were treated and released, police said. Nestor, who appeared to have bruises, according to police, refused medical treatment.

Nestor was issued a ticket for careless driving, police said. No tickets were issued to the juvenile.
