Boys SoccerHolding on to its intensity from game to game will be a key for the Lawrence High School boys soccer team as the season rolls on.

The Cardinals were hot and cold once again this week, earning a 5-1 victory over Allentown on Friday, but falling to Notre Dame, 2-1, on Monday.
Head coach Keith Fithen is searching for a way to keep his players on top of their game each and every time they take the field.
"We didn’t come to play (Monday)," he said. "We had a nice crowd there (under the lights at Zimmer Field), but we didn’t get the job done. We’re just hot and cold right now."
The Cardinals (7-3) got their seventh win of the season at the expense of Allentown in a game played under the lights at Mercer County Park. The junior varsity team also got to play at the same time on a adjacent field.
Mark Savino scored twice, while Josh Ben-Asher, Brian Bunn and Craig Mathews each added a score. Assists went out to Jarrett Stuart, Mathews, Mark Strycharz and Dan Jackson.
"We played well under the lights at Mercer County Park," Fithen said. "With the J.V. team playing at the same time, it was a really nice game."
While the Cardinals were hot against Allentown, they couldn’t seem to generate any solid chances to score against the Irish (6-3).
Stuart scored the lone Lawrence goal, and goalkeeper Garrett Santora turned in four saves in the effort.
Fithen noted that his team was beat to the ball continually against Notre Dame.
"Against Allentown, we hustled to the ball and really dominated play," he said. "Unfortunately, we couldn’t carry that over to the Notre Dame game. We didn’t match their intensity and we got beat."
