One Jackson resident welcomes new gas lines

One Jackson resident
welcomes new gas lines

In rebuttal to the Tri-Town News article stating all new homes and existing homes are changing over to city water, I question if this is another way for the Jackson Township Municipal Utilities Authority to make money off Jackson residents?

I presently live in a new home off West Fish Road and am happy that I finally (after living at 60 Acre Reserve and getting ripped off for five years) do not have to pay for water. I have well water and do not have to pay for it.

I presently have a well which has been tested "safe," is dug about 250 feet down and is connected to a water softener. The water is ice cold, tastes great and meets government standards. When I lived at 60 Acres in an upstairs unit with no outside hose connection, my bills were about $250 quarterly.

What I am unhappy about living here, though, is the fact that there are no gas lines out here. I am stuck with propane, and in the cold months my gas bill is $600 a month, thanks to the Middle East.

So, in reply to the person who wrote the article about us changing over to city water, and to Janet Gearman who is against New Jersey Natural Gas lines, I say you people don’t know what you are talking about. Janet, I would be happier than a pig in mud if gas lines were put out our way so I can afford to have my bill cut in half. I disagree and I will not let Jackson convert me to city water because, like my Middle East gas propane bill, you people ride alongside them. I say, get your priorities straight before you decide to do anything.
