Beatrice Gordan Breitkopf, 89, of Monroe died Thursday, Oct. 4, at Cranbury Care & Rehabilitation Center in Monroe.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived most of her life there. She also resided briefly in Rockaway Park, N.Y., before moving to Monroe in 1978.
Since coming to the township, she kept herself busy by writing articles for the Clearbrook Chronicle.
Her husband, Louis, died in 1997.
Surviving are her son, Stephen of North Brunswick; her daughter, Wendy Heisler of South Brunswick; a sister, Sonia Dorfman of Bayside, N.Y., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 5, at Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel in New Brunswick. Burial followed at Washington Cemetery in South Brunswick.
