"Flood! High Water on the Delaware," a slide lecture co-sponsored by the Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad of Washington Crossing and Titusville and Bob and Carol Meszaros, will be presented on Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ballroom in the rear of the Union Fire Company on Route 29 at Park Lake Avenue in Titusville.
The public is invited and admission is free.
Presenters of the program are Bob and Carol Meszaros, local history buffs. They will feature local scenes from Trenton north to the Easton-Phillipsburg bridge across the Delaware River on both sides of the river.
Included will be views from photographs of the devastating floodwaters from the 1903, 1936 and 1955 floods. Many area residents have shared photographs for the show.
The purpose of the presentation is to raise funds to aid victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Donations will be accepted in the form of cash or checks payable to "The September 11th Fund" or "The International Association of Firefighters," earmarked for the families of New York firemen.
Funds will be collected and disbursed to the proper charities by the Union Fire Company. For further information, call 737-3555.
