Police investigating two burglaries

Police are looking into two recent residential home invasions in the south eastern section of Hillsborough. The two burglaries occurred on Sept. 21 and Sept. 22 at a Fox Chase Run and Matthew Road residence respectively.
Hillsborough Police Lt. David Delatour said police do not have any suspects for the break-ins but detectives are examining evidence and investigating to determine if the two crimes are related. Lt. Delatour said that while it may be possible that the Fox Chase Run and Mathew Road break-ins are related there does not appear to be a rash of burglaries in town.
According to police reports, the Sept. 21 Fox Chase Run break in was reported at 11:07 p.m. that night. Police believe the burglar entered the home by prying open a downstairs window using a crowbar or similar tool sometime between 6 and 11 p.m. that night.
After noticing possessions in the home out of place and all the closet doors opened up, the resident of the home notified police. The Fox Chase Run resident told police that $20 in cash was the only thing stolen from the home.
A report of the Sept. 22 Matthew Road break-in said that the break-in was reported by a resident of the home shortly after 2 a.m. The resident, who was not at home during the break-in, told police that a video camera, jewels and money were stolen. Police believe the burglar entered the home either through a window or by tampering with a lock on a door, sometime between 10:30 p.m. and 2 a.m.
